Do you enjoy leading teams, removing bottlenecks, and delivering a consistent, compliant processing experience for commercial real estate clients? If so, the Commercial Real Estate Processing Operations Manager role is a great fit!As a Processing Operations Manager in Commercial Real Estate you will be responsible for day-to-day leadership of the processing function supporting commercial real estate products, with accountability for throughput, cycle times, quality, and control effectiveness. This leader translates credit and operational policy into executable procedures, manages capacity and prioritization across the pipeline, and ensures consistent customer and stakeholder experiences. The Processing Operations Manager owns operational execution and control discipline across the processing lifecycle. This includes establishing clear workflow standards, ensuring accurate and complete file documentation, enforcing compliance checkpoints, and maintaining transparent pipeline visibility for internal stakeholders.
The role partners closely with Credit, Underwriting, Sales/Relationship Management, Closing/Funding, Compliance, Quality Assurance, and Technology to maintain an efficient operating model and to drive measurable improvements in productivity, risk outcomes, and employee engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of processors and loan coordinators; align daily priorities to business commitments and customer needs
- Set clear expectations for file readiness and documentation completeness before underwriting and closing handoffs
- Remove bottlenecks by diagnosing blockers, coordinating owners, and driving timely resolution across the pipeline
- Escalate exceptions with disciplined fact patterns, root-cause context, and recommended resolution paths
- Maintain a consistent operating cadence through huddles, pipeline reviews, productivity reporting, and issue routines
- Ensure processing adheres to internal policies and external regulatory requirements, including fair and consistent treatment
- Maintain audit-ready files by enforcing documentation standards, retention requirements, and control checkpoints
- Document, approve, and track exceptions to closure with clear ownership, timelines, and evidence standards
- Partner with Compliance and Quality Assurance to address findings, implement corrective actions, and improve controls
- Drive continuous improvement by mapping workflows, eliminating rework, and standardizing best practices across channels
- Identify automation and system enhancement opportunities; support testing, rollout, training, and adoption reinforcement
Required qualifications, skills, and capabilities
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in loan/credit processing operations (consumer and/or commercial), including end-to-end file management and stakeholder coordination.
- 2+ years of people leadership experience, with accountability for performance management, coaching, and workload planning.
- Demonstrated proficiency in regulated documentation practices, audit readiness, and operational controls within a financial institution setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate operational issues into executive-ready summaries and action plans.
