Description
A private cardiology group is seeking a BE/BC Electrophysiology Cardiologist to join an elite, highly collaborative team of 19 cardiologists and 8 APPs.
This position is created strictly due to rapid patient volume growth across an expansive 9-county catchment area (600,000+ population across Southern Oregon and Northern California).
Opportunity Highlights:
- Pure EP Focus: ~98% EP practice with minimal general cardiology duty (only 6-7 general weekend calls per year).
- Clear Partnership Track: Fast 1-year track to practice partnership with a modest $15,000 buy-in, plus future real estate and outpatient lab ownership opportunities.
- Exceptional Volume Growth (2023-2026): Pacer/ICD +31%, Ablations +41%, Watchman +58% (annualized), Office Visits +29%.
- Schedule Balance: 2 dedicated EP lab days and 3 clinic days per week, with immediate flexibility to increase lab days as your volume builds. During EP call weeks, clinic schedules are adjusted to accommodate inpatient procedures.
- Dedicated Support: 1 dedicated EP Physician Assistant, with plans to expand APP support as volume grows, alongside MAs, CCMAs, RN/LPNs, and dedicated scheduling, orders, and administrative staff.
- EMR System: EPIC integrated across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
EP Capabilities:
- Lab Infrastructure: Access to 6 cath labs (including 2 dedicated state-of-the-art EP labs), a Cardiovascular Institute (CVI) with 2 cath labs, and ATRMC with 1 cath lab.
- Procedures Performed: Comprehensive EP spectrum (pacing, ICDs, ablations, Watchman, device implants) with the exception of epicardial ablations and lead extractions.
- Structural Heart & Imaging Integration: TAVR, Mitral Valve-in-Valve, Watchman, ASD/PFO closures. Features a new cardiac MRI program and 2 hybrid ORs.
Call schedule & quality of life:
- EP Call: Monday-Friday (1 in 4 weeks), rotated equally among electrophysiologists.
- General Cardiology Call: Only 6-7 weekends per year.
- Inpatient Support: Robust 24/7 hospitalist service handles night admissions.
Compensation & Benefits:
Year 1 (Employed):
- Income Guarantee in Year 1 of $621,000
- Sign-On & Starting Bonus: $70,000 total
- Paid Time Off: 4 weeks vacation + 1 week paid CME
- Allowances: Business & CME allowance covering travel, licensure, board fees, subscriptions, and credentialing
Year 2+ (Partnership & Production):
- Earning potential driven by individual production
- Additional Revenue Streams:
- Outpatient cardiovascular lab ownership opportunity
- Discretionary profit-sharing plan
- Real estate ownership opportunity in medical office buildings after 2 years
- Comprehensive Benefits Package: Medical, Dental, Vision, Malpractice coverage, flexible vacation, and scheduling autonomy.
