Varnum LLP is seeking an associate to join the Real Estate practice team. This individual will practice out of our Grand Rapids or Birmingham office. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly regarded team with a broad base of experience in real estate matters.
The ideal candidate will have at least three years of legal experience, with law firm experience strongly preferred. The associate will assist the team with leasing, purchasing and sales of commercial real estate. Expertise is required in organizational documents, operating agreements, title/survey review and closing checklists, as well as with commercial lease negotiations and amendments. Successful candidates will possess the ability to simultaneously juggle multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of responsiveness; exceptional attention to detail; outstanding client service skills; and excellent academic credentials. Admission to the Michigan bar is preferred, but not required, as candidates admitted to practice in other jurisdictions will also be considered.
