We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Attorney to join our Real Estate practice group and provide legal counsel on a broad range of sophisticated commercial and residential real estate matters.
As a Real Estate Shareholder, you will be responsible for negotiating, drafting, and reviewing real estate– related agreements, including purchase and sale agreements, leases, loan documents, development agreements, and closing documents. You will advise clients on all aspects of real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, zoning and land use, title and survey matters, and due diligence.
Well-qualified candidates will have substantial experience with complex real estate transactions and working directly with developers, lenders, investors, and property owners.
The ideal candidate will be intellectually curious, detail-oriented, and possess strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment. Strong business development and networking capabilities a plus.
As a shareholder in our real estate practice group, you will:
- Review and draft real estate purchase contracts, leases, easements, loan documents, development agreements, and other agreements.
- Oversee due diligence on real estate transactions, including title searches.
- Review title commitments on behalf of nationally recognized title insurance companies.
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients regarding property transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development, zoning and land use, title and survey matter and due diligence.
- Negotiate terms and conditions for real estate transactions on behalf of clients.
- Ensure timely closings of real estate transactions.
- Remain updated on real estate laws, regulations, and trends affecting the industry.
- Provide guidance, mentorship and training to associates within the real estate practice group, including delegating work and supporting professional development.
- Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and real estate professionals to achieve clients' and firm objectives.
- In coordination with practice group leaders and the firm’s marketing team, develop a deeper client and referral network
The following is a list of some of the important things we would like to see in a candidate:
- An outstanding academic record with a JD from a highly regarded accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- At least 5 years of experience in real estate legal practice.
- Strong knowledge of commercial real estate transactions, contracts, and property law.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Proven track record of providing high-quality legal services and achieving favorable outcomes for clients.
- Portable book of business a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a highly regarded accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the Florida Bar.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Real Estate Attorney.
