Our practice represents investors, developers, landlords, business owners, and private clients throughout Central Ohio. We pride ourselves on practical advice, responsiveness, and strategic thinking.
We are seeking a motivated Real Estate Attorney with 3–5 years of experience to join our team. This role offers significant responsibility, direct client interaction, and meaningful courtroom experience.
Position Overview
The ideal candidate will have experience handling both transactional and litigation matters in the real estate space and be comfortable moving between deal work and dispute resolution. The attorney will also represent landlords in eviction proceedings and related housing matters.
This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys both drafting and courtroom advocacy and wants to build a long-term practice within a collaborative and growth-oriented firm.
Responsibilities
Transactional Work
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements, leases, amendments, and related documents
- Conduct due diligence review (title, survey, zoning, etc.)
- Review and analyze title commitments and resolve title objections
- Draft operating agreements and related real estate investment documents
- Assist with closings and post-closing matters
Litigation & Dispute Resolution
- Handle real estate litigation matters, including contract disputes, title disputes, partition actions, and related claims
- Represent landlords in eviction proceedings (forcible entry and detainer actions)
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and briefs
- Conduct hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
- Manage cases from filing through resolution
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience practicing real estate law
- Admission to the Ohio Bar in good standing
- Experience in both real estate transactions and litigation preferred
- Experience representing landlords in eviction proceedings strongly preferred
- Strong drafting and analytical skills
- Comfortable appearing in court and managing hearings independently
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
- Excellent client communication skills
